COZY WRITING CO. AFFILIATE TERMS & CONDITIONS

The Cozy Writing Co. Affiliate Program is pretty simple: you share something you think your people will like, they buy it through your affiliate link, and you earn a commission.

Naturally, we've also got Terms & Conditions. Because money is changing hands and apparently "everybody just be reasonable" isn't quite specific enough.

By signing up for the Cozy Writing Co. Affiliate Program, you agree to the terms below.

TL;DR: They're mostly what you'd expect: share things honestly, disclose your affiliate relationship, don't misrepresent Cozy Writing Co., and don't do anything that leaves us all with a mess to untangle later.

ACCEPTANCE INTO THE PROGRAM

Submitting an application doesn't automatically mean you're in. But you don't need a giant audience or an elaborate marketing plan, either. We're mostly looking for people who genuinely like what we're doing and think their people might like it, too.

Cozy Writing Co. reserves the right to approve or decline applications, or suspend or remove affiliates from the program, for any reason. We don't anticipate making a whole thing of this, but the option needs to be there.

If you're approved, you'll get access to your affiliate dashboard, your unique links, and the stuff you need so you're not sitting there wondering, "Okay, now what?"

COMMISSION DETAILS

You earn 40% commission on purchases at Cozy Writing Co.

That's it. No complicated categories, no list of exceptions, no wondering whether something counts. If someone makes a purchase through your affiliate link, you earn 40%.

One small note about subscriptions: You’ll earn commission when someone first signs up, but not on their automatic renewals after that.

How you get paid:

• Commissions are tracked automatically through our affiliate platform.
• There's no minimum payout balance. If you earned a commission, you get paid.
• Payouts are issued once a month, via PayPal, by the 5th of each month to cover the previous month's approved commissions.
• Refunds, chargebacks, canceled orders, or fraudulent transactions void the commission for that transaction.

If something in your dashboard or payout doesn't look right, let us know. We'll figure out what happened.

WHAT HAPPENS AFTER THE CLICK

When someone clicks your affiliate link, you'll earn commission on any eligible purchases they make for the next 90 days.

So they don't have to buy the thing you originally sent them to see. They can come back tomorrow, next week, or two months from now and find something completely different. If they buy it during those 90 days, it counts.

As with anything involving links, cookies, browsers, and the internet in general, there are occasional exceptions. Affiliate credit depends on our system being able to connect the purchase back to your referral. (We have many talents. Controlling browser cookies is not currently among them.)

One click. 90 days. Whatever eligible Cozy Writing Co. products happen to catch their eye. The commission is all yours.

SHARING COZY WRITING CO.

The best way to share Cozy Writing Co. is also the easiest: sound like yourself.

Tell people what caught your attention. Talk about something you've used or liked. Send them the thing that made you immediately think, "Oh, you need this." You already know how to talk to the people who trust you; that's considerably more useful than trying to sound like us.

A few things we do need you to keep in mind:

• Clearly disclose your affiliate relationship whenever you share an affiliate link. It's required, and nobody likes finding out after the fact anyway.
• Don't present yourself as Cozy Writing Co., a Cozy Writing Co. employee, or an official representative of the company.
• Don't make claims, promises, or guarantees about Cozy Writing Co. or our products that we haven't made ourselves.
• Don't run paid ads using the Cozy Writing Co. name, branding, or trademarks without written permission.
• Don't create your own Cozy Writing Co. coupons, discounts, or alternate pricing.
• Don't use spam, misleading claims, deceptive tactics, or anything else that would make us wonder what exactly happened here.
• Don't copy, share, resell, redistribute, or recreate our products. Your affiliate link works much better if people still need to buy the thing.

Other than that? Talk about the things you like in whatever way makes sense for you.

A QUICK NOTE ABOUT OUR STUFF

Everything Cozy Writing Co. creates—our products, writing, designs, images, graphics, logos, and other original materials—belongs to Cozy Writing Co. unless we tell you otherwise.

You're welcome to use anything we've specifically provided for affiliates to help you share Cozy Writing Co. That's what it's there for.

That permission doesn't extend to copying, modifying, reselling, redistributing, repackaging, or creating your own version of our products or other materials.

If you're not sure whether you can use something, ask. We'd much rather answer a slightly random email than have both of us discover afterward that the answer was no.

WHEN A COMMISSION DOESN'T COUNT

Most of the time, it's pretty straightforward: referral happens, sale happens, commission happens.

There are a few exceptions. We may withhold, reverse, or cancel commissions connected to refunds, chargebacks, canceled orders, fraudulent transactions, self-referrals, manipulated tracking, or violations of these terms.

We may also review commissions before they're approved for payment.

Basically, the commission needs to come from a real person making a real purchase because you actually referred them. Seems reasonable.

IF WE NEED TO PART WAYS

You can leave the Affiliate Program whenever you want. Just email us.

Cozy Writing Co. may also suspend or end your participation in the program for any reason, including violations of these terms, misuse of affiliate links, deceptive promotional practices, or activity that could harm Cozy Writing Co., our customers, or our reputation.

Any legitimate, approved commissions you're owed will still be paid according to the normal payout schedule.

No dramatic breakup meeting required.

IN CASE OF TECHNICAL DIFFICULTIES

We do our best to keep affiliate links, tracking, dashboards, reporting, and payments working the way they're supposed to. Some of those things rely on third-party platforms and technology outside our control.

Cozy Writing Co. isn't responsible for commissions or other losses resulting from technical failures, tracking limitations, third-party platform issues, or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.

If something looks wrong, though, tell us. We'll take a look.

THINGS MAY CHANGE

The Affiliate Program will probably evolve right along with Cozy Writing Co. We may change commission rates, eligible products, program rules, policies, or how the program works.

If we make a material change, we'll let you know.

Continuing to participate in the Affiliate Program after updated terms take effect means you agree to the updated terms.

GOVERNING LAW

These Terms and the Cozy Writing Co. Affiliate Program are governed by the laws of the State of Idaho.

Any dispute arising from or relating to the Affiliate Program or these Terms will be resolved through binding arbitration rather than in court.
